Welcome to the all-inclusive section
of the web site
devoted to everyone’s favorite game, Monopoly. This section will
cover all aspects of Monopoly, a board game dedicated to buying,
selling, and renting properties…capitalism at its best.
While many
of us may have played our first game of Monopoly in grade school
with family or friends, adults of all ages still enjoy the engaging
game of market domination and money making. Monopoly will keep older
minds fresh and teach younger minds valuable concepts such as
mathematics, accounting, negotiation and social and business
interaction. This Monopoly section will restore your love for the game, fill you
in on the
history
of Monopoly and the many odd facts associated with one of the
best-selling board games around the world. Even a simplified version
of the
rules
of Monopoly, variations to the rules and strategy tips are offered.
A quick overview of the game may be useful to refresh your
memory…the fun is endless when playing with paper money and a
capitalistic spirit. The basics of Monopoly are as follows: Your
goal is to end the game as the wealthiest player or without being
forced into bankruptcy. Properties may be bought and sold from the
bank or between players. Rent may be collected or paid to other
players. Houses and hotels may be constructed on blocks of property
to raise the property value. Beware of bankruptcy, jail, heavy taxes
and other pitfalls of the game. The game comes with the following
items: a game board, two dice, tokens, 32 houses, 12 hotels, Chance
cards, Community Chest cards, a Title Deed card (one for each
property), and the all important…pretend money.
